Bill, the first named hurricane of the 2009 Atlantic season, is churning off the West Indies and continues to intensify as it heads northward.

The storm could impact Bermuda and is expected to have some impact on the Maritimes although its path is still too early to accurately predict.

Meantime, Tropical Storm Claudette has dissipated after being a rain event for the Florida Panhandle and Alabama.

Tropical Storm Ana, the first named storm of the season, also dissipated southwest of Puerto Rico.
