August 2009 – Finally Summer!

It took long enough but summer finally arrived in Greater Moncton in August with warm temperatures both day (4 days at or above 30 C) and night along with plenty of precipitation –  typical of the entire season.

Rainfall was mostly confined to four major rain events including a brush with Hurricane Bill and the remnants of Tropical Storm Danny.

The overall average for August would have been even higher had it not been for a cool snap at month’s end.
