The temperature hit 32 C (90 F) at Boston’s Logan Airport yesterday, a record and the earliest it has ever been so warm.
Typically Boston doesn’t get that warm until early June and only gets that hot on about a dozen days every summer.
New records were also set in Hartford and Providence yesterday where both cities reached 33 C and New York City hit 32 C.
Dulles Airport, near Washington, DC, reached 33 C coming close to tying its record.

The warm weather that enveloped Ontario yesterday (CFB Borden hit 29.6 C!) moved east and shattered record highs in numerous locations in Quebec and the Maritimes.
In Greater Moncton, the thermometer climbed to 22.6 C, breaking the old record of 16.2 C from 1988.
The hotspot in New Brunswick was Edmundston at 26.4 C followed closely by Bathurst at 26.0 C.
But Saint John reached a high of only 9.6 C under fog and cloud.
In Nova Scotia, Greenwood hit 20.1 C and Halifax Airport hit 21.1 C both breaking records from 1987 while Sydney set a new high of 21.5 C.
Charlottetown, PEI also set a new high of 19.3 C.
The hotspot in Canada was Lennoxville, QC at 29.3 C.
UPDATE – On April 4, Moncton set a new record high of 20.9 C beating the old record of 19.0 C from 1981.
On April 5, Moncton set another record high of 18.8 C beating the old record of 17.5 C from 1991.
