June 2010 – Wet and warm

Temperatures during the first of half of June in Greater Moncton were cooler than normal – both daytime highs and overnight lows.

But by mid-month, the thermometer was on the rise with a peak of 30.0 C by the 19th.

Precipitation was heavier than normal with the bulk of the rain falling in six rain events – four of them over the course of a mere six days.


Average HIGH  20.7 C

Average LOW  10.1 C

AVERAGE  15.4 C (0.3 C above normal)

Extreme HIGH  30.0 C (on the 19th)

Extreme LOW  3.9 C (on the 9th)

RAINFALL  146.4 mm (more than 40% above normal)
