New Brunswick and other parts of the Maritimes basked in record high temperatures yesterday amid more rain and high winds.

Greater Moncton Int’l Airport hit 15.3 C beating the old record high of 12.8 C from 1959 but Fredericton was actually the warmest in the province at 15.6 C edging out the old record of 9.4 C from 1968.

Rainfall amounts ranged from 20 mm in Moncton to 170 mm in St. Stephen which was the hardest hit from this storm system while wind gusts peaked at 94 km/h in Moncton and 96 km/h in Fredericton.

Thousands lost power, some for as long as 12 hours, as falling branches and trees brought down power lines and crews had trouble reaching outages due to flooded roads.
