After being hammered by Hurricane Irene less than two weeks ago, residents along east coast of North America are no doubt breathing a sigh of relief that Katia is expected to take a sharp easterly turn by the weekend.

Forecasters do say the storm will brush Bermuda and the southern coastlines of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland can expect large waves starting on Friday.

Meantime, Tropical Depression 14 has formed in the central Atlantic and hurricane watchers say once named it could pose a threat to Puerto Rico or the Southeastern U.S. by next week.
