Fall storm-a-comin’

Flooding in Massachusetts, USA from storm system (FB)

A low pressure system near Cape Cod will rapidly deepen and track near the Maritimes as it develops into a major storm.

Southeastern New Brunswick can expect 50 to 80 millimetres of rainfall over the next two days and strong northerly winds gusting to 100 km/h are also forecast along the Northumberland Strait.

Higher than normal water levels combined with unusually high waves will impact the coastline causing flooding, beach erosion and possible damage to structures near the shore.

North facing coastlines from Point Escuminac to Cap-Pele will be most susceptible to the strong winds and wave action.
