Melting in Moncton, 08 March 2012 (Dearing photo)

The warmest temperatures in three months (since early December) led to rapid snow melt in Greater Moncton today.

Records fell in numerous communities as the temperature climbed to almost 19.0 C in Fredericton and Kouchibouguac – the hotspots in Canada.

Greater Moncton Airport recorded a high of 14.0 C this afternoon beating the old record of 13.5 C from 1995.

In Nova Scotia, the highest temperature was recorded at Ingonish Beach with 17.9 C.
