American Southeast Soaker!

This may be hurricane season but it wasn’t a hurricane that dumped more than 300 mm of rain to parts of the American Southeast over the weekend.

Flood warnings stretched along the U.S. Gulf Coast from Florida to Mississippi on Monday after heavy rain damaged homes, blacked out a jail and spun off at least one tornado in Alabama.

The U.S. Weather Service says Pensacola, Florida was one of the hardest hit areas with 380 mm (15 inches) of rain reported by Monday.
