Gabrielle breaks down before reaching NS



The remnants of tropical despression Gabrielle are impacting Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island today after the storm broke down in colder waters.

Many areas of Nova Scotia have received between 30 and 50 millimetres of rain so far with parts of Lunenburg and Queens County receiving close to 70 millimetres according to the Canadian Hurricane Centre.

Winds from Gabrielle are not really a factor gusting to about 60 km/h.

Southeast New Brunswick is receiving some rain from Gabrielle and warm, tropical air but no warnings have been issued.
