The temperature fell to -28.1 C early this morning in Greater Moncton – a new record low – as an Arctic air mass settled over Southeast New Brunswick.

The previous record low was -25.4 C from 1999.

Environment Canada has issued a wind chill warning for much of the province with values dropping to as low as -45.

As if the cold isn’t punishment enough, along comes another disturbance later tonight which will bring more snow but models show Nova Scotia should get the brunt of this storm.
