A second winter storm in as many days has blasted New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and northern Nova Scotia with heavy snow and strong winds creating poor visibility.

Police were asking residents to stay home and motorists were being urged to use extreme caution on the roads if they had to venture out.

As I drove to work this morning on Wheeler Boulevard in Moncton, my vehicle became stuck in snow as several vehicles were left stranded ahead of me.

Fortunately, two off-duty paramedics pushed me out shortly after a plow had gone by to clear at least one lane of traffic.
