Cold nights continue…

Despite almost a week of cold, frosty nights in New Brunswick, trees are still slowly budding across the province as we enter the second month of astronomical spring.

The season typically sputters thanks to our geographical position near the cold North Atlantic and persistent chilly, northwesterly winds at this time of year.

For late April, the normal high is 14°C and the normal low is 1°C. Record lows range between -4°C and -8°C.

Low temperatures in both Moncton and Fredericton have dropped to near record minimums over the last few days (see below courtesy ECCC):

Forecasters expect values to climb above normal across southern New Brunswick in the upcoming week, ranging from 13°C to 18°C in Fredericton and a bit cooler for Moncton.
